If you build it, they will come! Ark Encounter features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. The huge structure will be the largest timber-framed building in the world!
Ark Encounter is situated in the beautiful Williamstown, Kentucky, halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington on I-75. From the moment you turn the corner and the towering Ark comes into view, to the friendly animals in the zoo, to the jaw-dropping exhibits inside the Ark, you’ll experience the pages of the Bible like never before. Many of the animals that lived during Noah’s lifetime didn’t look much like the animals we see today. Prepare to have your expectations challenged by a host of incredibly lifelike sculpted animals, along with exotic live animals from around the world in Ararat Ridge Zoo. Plus, you’ll learn how Noah could have cared for all the animals and how the Ark was big enough to fit them all on board.
Ararat Ridge Zoo
Visit animals from around the world like Tibetan yaks, kangaroos and ostriches. Then imagine you live in biblical times and take a ride on a donkey or camel. With fun for the kids and biblical teaching content for all ages, the Ararat Ridge Zoo is a must-do at Ark Encounter.
Extreme Zip Lines
The Ark Encounter zip lines features 22 different zip lines to the course. Ten of these super-zip lines are 1,000 linear feet or longer and three of them are 1,500 feet or longer. The longest cable is a whopping 2,100 feet and is the longest zip line in the midwest. Thrill seekers, harness up and get ready for the wild ride. These are not your average zip lines. With speeds reaching up to 50 miles per hour and heights over 170 feet, the Ark Encounter zip lines take your ride to the max. At times you’ll be zooming more than 17 stories in the air, making the Ark look even more impressive as you take in the whole picture.
Max Out Your Adventure
Don’t just zip line and be done with it. Max out your adventure with a dive on our four freefall jumps ranging from 45–100 feet high. Or, get creative on the aerial adventure course that has over 2,300 linear feet of extreme adventures! Are you up for the challenge?
