Camping at Mammoth Cave

There are few better ways to discover the pleasures and curiosities of the sunlit side of Mammoth Cave National Park than to camp among the trees or by the waters. The park offers camping in three developed campgrounds and in more than a dozen primitive sites in the backcountry and along the Green and Nolin Rivers.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort

Located just outside of Mammoth Cave National Park in Cave City, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp - Resort is a great place to stay for cave country visitors. They offer a number of camping sites, from basic sites to full service RV sites. They also have a number of cabins available. While visiting, enjoy the fishing pond on site, or one of the other great facilities like the mini golf course or horse shoes pit. The camp-resort also offers a number of services and amenities on site, and is just minutes away from Mammoth Cave National Park and other area attractions.

Cave Run Lake, Daniel Boon National Forest

Cave Run Lake is nestled among the rolling hills of north-eastern Kentucky. It is located on the Cumberland Ranger District of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Here you will find fishing, camping, marinas, hiking, mountain biking. Campgrounds: The Twin Knobs and Zilpo campgrounds provide nearly 400 campsites, some with RV hook-ups. The campgrounds also have swimming beaches and group-use picnic areas.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington

Set amidst the rolling hills of the Bluegrass lies the Kentucky Horse Park Campground, one of America's finest resort campgrounds! The campground boasts 260 campsites, each complete with electrical and water hookups, paved pads, fire rings and picnic tables. There is also unlimited primitive camping available. There are many extras for your comfort: a grocery with souvenirs, two bathhouses with modern conveniences, laundromats, two dump stations, tennis and game courts, junior Olympic-size swimming pool, playground and more. While here, plan on visiting the Kentucky Horse Park - the only park of its kind in the world! The park is a working horse farm/theme park and equine competition facility dedicated to man's relationship with the horse.

Lake Shelby Campground, Shelbyville

12 RV sites, 17 tent sites, dump station, 20 acre fishing lake, boat launches, paddle boats, row boats, picnic shelter rentals and walking trails. Adjacent to 130 acre Clear Creek Park with Family Activity Center featuring heated indoor competition size pool, outdoor splash pool, indoor walking track, gym, meeting rooms, fitness equipment. The Park boasts playgrounds and walking trails. Also nearby, Clear Creek 9-Hole Golf Course.
