Cajun Experience in Louisiana

Cajun Experience in Louisiana

Travel south and west to Acadiana - Cajun Country - anchored by Lafayette, Lake Charles and other cities where French heritage thrives. Take in a festival of Cajun food and music. Tour the Atchafalaya Basin - America's largest swamp - for views of extraordinary ecosystems and wildlife, including alligators. Take a driving tour along the Creole Nature Trail (an All-American  Road) to see south Louisiana's incredible marshlands and nature preserves.

Pont Breaux's Cajun Restaurant has been a cornerstone of Cajun Country's proudest traditions - the music, food and love of good times. More than just a meal stop Pont Breaux's, 6 miles from Lafayette, is an ideal way to experience the culture of Cajun Country.

Pont Breaux's is an authentic Cajun dancehall. Many of the cypress beams supporting the building were hauled from the nearby Henderson Swamp. The floors have supported five generation of Cajun dancers. You are as likely to hear French spoken as English. Children are more than welcome and likely to be seen bouncing around the dance floor, this too is part of Cajun tradition.

Pont Breaux's is open 7 days a week serving lunch and dinner. It has a casual and very festive atmosphere, with seating for up to 250 people. Lunch & dinner group menus are available for groups of 20 or more. There is live Cajun Music and Dancing 7 nights a week. All the bands are local musicians and play traditional Cajun Music. The dance floor is in the centre of the restaurant and visitors can take a turn on the dance floor or tap your toes at your table!

Pont Breaux's is a place where Cajuns can celebrate the fact that they are Cajun's, and where the rest of the world can join in the celebration.

The most Cajun place on earth!

Over 150 years in the making, Vermilion Parish is a multicultural blend steeped in history with a dash of "joie de vivre", love of life. This bilingual, coastal parish is very large and diverse with wandering bayous and farmlands, authentic local Cajun cuisine, family-friendly festivals and Cajun towns connecting it all.

World-renown Cajun cooking is what we're known for and there's plenty of great restaurants to showcase it. Their proximity to the Gulf Coast of Mexico also means they have an abundance of fresh seafood for the amazing cuisine. So when it's time to eat, sit where the locals go to enjoy crawfish, alligator, oysters, shrimp and all the classics fresh from the local waters.
