Play, Listen & Dance in Louisiana

Festivals are just one way to experience the great music of Louisiana.  You  can two-step all night and all year long at famed clubs, dancehalls and music venues.  In New Orleans nightlife springs eternal from Bourbon to Frenchmen streets. Hot spots like Preservation Hall and Snug Harbor will satisfy both the causal tourist and the jazz aficionado. Baton Rouge offers rock, blues, country and everything in between at places like Chelsea’s Café, The Varsity Theatre and The Spanish Moon.

Lafayette’s Blue Moon Saloon is heralded as a premier venue for roots music around the world. And not far away is the city of Eunice, home to the Cajun Music Hall of Fame and the Savoy Music Center. Visitors can step back in time and learn about the origins of Cajun music then jump forward to the present and watch instrument makers craft accordions.

North Louisiana offers everything from symphonies and operas at the Riverview Theatre in Shreveport to world-renown classical guitar at the The Biedenharn Museum & Gardens in Monroe.
