Tennessee News...YOU DON'T JUST VISIT TENNESSEE, YOU EXPERIENCE IT...
Bring on the Blues...
The famous Shubert Theatre in New York is now home to Memphis - a fictional rock'n'roll musical based on Beale Street about the first white dj to play rhythm and blues music for mainstream white audiences. With songwriters David Bryan; Bon Jovi keyboardist, & Joe DiPietro; the librettist/lyricist of musicals, the pair have made beautiful music in telling the story of a 1950s romance between a white dj and a black soul singer. To get a taste of the southern- flavoured musical click here.
The world famous Chattanooga Choo Choo is celebrating its 100 year anniversary in December. The Choo Choo has spent over 3 million dollars in renovations over the past 2 years, including a complete new look in the grand dome lobby, the original terminal stations most prominent feature.
Celebratory activities are planned for the anniversary including a Centennial Celebration of the Year Party. For further details click here.
The first annual Glen Miller Orchestra concert held earlier this year at the Choo Choo was a complete sell out and a huge success, but if you missed it dust of your dancing shoes and make plans to be in Chattanooga May 29 2010!
