Which Amtrak Stations & Routes are in Alabama?

Alabama has 4 stations: Anniston, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa which are on The Crescent Route, and Mobile which is on The Mardi Gras route. The Birmingham and Mobile stations are the largest.

Birmingham Station - The Crescent Route... 

• Located on the southern side of downtown at 1819 Morris Avenue, within the Birmingham Intermodal facility which opened in early 2018.
• Amtrak services here are integrated with local and intercity buses - making it a fantastically convenient transport hub for travellers.
• Birmingham Station primarily services The Crescent Route which starts (or ends!) in New Orleans, Louisiana with stops in:
  • Picayune
  • Hattiesburg
  • Laurel and Meridian in Mississippi
  • Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Anniston in Alabama
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • The Carolinas
  • Washington D.C..
  • New York
• A 30 hour trip with daily departures.
    

Mobile Station - The Mardi Gras Route...

• Situated in downtown Mobile at 101 South Water St, Mobile Station reopened in 2025 and saw the reinstatement of Amtrak service. Conveniently located within the entertainment district.
• It serves as the eastern terminal of the Mardi Gras Service, which operates between Mobile and New Orleans - making stops in several coastal Mississippi towns, including:
  •  Bay St. Louis
  • Gulfport
  • Biloxi,
  • Pascagoula. 
• Running along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, this line celebrates Mobile and New Orleans' shared culture of Mardi Gras, whilst also boosting the towns along its coastal route,
• A 3 hour 45 minutes trip departing twice a day.
