New attractions, expansions, restaurants, hotels and more are slated to make 2022 a bright year in Tennessee.

Zoo expansions, luxury hotels, event centres and more new developments are in store for Tennessee that appeal to families, couples, food and drink connoisseurs and everyone in between. Here's a sampling of what's new in Tennessee in 2022.

Alcoa – Former Jack Daniel’s master distiller is bringing a new venture to Alcoa in 2022 called Company Distilling (pictured above). Visitors can experience a tasting room, brewery, retail store and bonfire pits.

Cookeville – Anglers from around the world will compete at the FIPSed Kayak Fishing World Championship as fans and families gather for six days of activities in May 2022.

Johnson City – Coffee Ridge Resort will be an all-inclusive, couples-only resort offering a high-end, tailor-made experiences for couples to connect with nature and ultimately each other. The $20-million investment into the luxury cabin resort will be the first of its kind in Northeast Tennessee.

Kingsport – Throw your hammock up for a night under the stars at Cedar Ridge Hammock Campground at Warriors’ Path State Park. Tennessee’s first hammock only campground allows up to 72 hammocks at five sites all next to each other. Camp by yourself, with friends and/or family or even an entire group.

Madison – Music City Roots, a live radio show and public television series just outside Nashville, is on track to be completed in early 2022. The show will spotlight heritage artists and newcomers in a bar that can hold 1,000 fans. Besides concerts, there will be a gospel brunch, tours and private events.

Memphis – Celebrate National Bike Month in May by visiting Shelby Farms and trying out Memphis’ first and only eBike Fleet. The electric bikes, powered by Bosch, use an electric motor and battery to help bike share users power their bike ride. On pedal assist eBikes, the assist only kicks in when pedaling. The motor amplifies the power behind each pedal stroke, providing a natural riding feeling. The whole family can enjoy the paved trails in the Park and on Shelby Farms Greenline.

Nashville – The Nashville SC Stadium, the 30,000-set home for the Nashville’s Major League Soccer located at the city’s fairgrounds in the Wedgewood-Houston neighbourhood, will be Music City’s newest venue for MLS matches, live music and more, set to open in May. Also this year, Nashville's Bridgestone Arena plays host to the SEC Women’s Basketball Championship 2-6 March. Tailor Nashville, the award-winning South Asian American dinner party style restaurant, finds a new home at the Taylor Place development in Germantown, which will offer a 2,000-square-foot space to welcome guests.

Sevierville – Soaky Mountain Waterpark will add a first-of-its-kind dueling water coaster featuring thrilling high-speed surprises taking riders to the edge for the 2022 season. “The Edge” spans two football fields in length, fusing together WhiteWater’s Master Blaster water coaster with their iconic Boomerango.  A 70-foot tower will be home to the new slides with double tubes side by side, each in their owned assigned lane.
