'Selma' stars David Oyelowo as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and culminates with the historic 1965 Selma to Montgomery civil rights march, that eventually led to President Lyndon Johnson to sign the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
'Selma' was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia and Selma & Montgomery in Alabama and the timing of the movie's release coincides with the 50th anniversary in March next year.
Starring David Oyelowo, Cuba Gooding Jr and Oprah Winfrey, who also producers the film alongside Brad Pitt, Selma is due for release at cinemas in January. While the movie looks at the civil rights event that happened on the Edmund Pettus Bridge, it also focuses on the relationships among King, President Johnson and Alabama Governor George Wallace.
