Parade season begins on the 6th January and the final day is Mardi Gras Day, or Fat Tuesday, on the 9th February 2016. This is a time for parties, parades and balls with a variety of Mardi Gras Season celebrations throughout Louisiana.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans is sort of like Christmas and the New Orleanians begin celebrating with a variety of parades right up until Mardi Gras. The weekend to join all the major fun is 5th-9th February 2016 but it's best to arrive before the 5th!
