There are over 100,000 lights that transform Cleveland, Mississippi into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. Visit from mid-November until early January for an incredible display of lights that can be viewed every night by following the trail.
Many years ago, a group of local ladies started a holiday tradition downtown which encouraged business owners to put white lights in their windows and have white light trees installed on the green strip. This started the “Light Up Your Holidays” tradition. The downtown lighting grew and grew to also include rooftop lighting in the downtown area.
In 2016, the Janoush Family added a beautiful tree downtown, along with many other amazing lighted and animated decorations. They held a tree lighting ceremony for the new tree, which was a huge success and brought many people to visit downtown. A committee developed a plan to add white lights to downtown and to have a Musical theme as a tribute to The Grammy Museum, a Candy Land theme and a train theme for The Depot and Train Museum.
Local businesses and individuals wanted to purchase displays as a donation to the City and every year they expand on the lights and displays. We hhighly recommend visiting Cleveland during the holiday season and the “50 Nights of Lights”.
