The Louisiana Brewery Trail
Louisiana is a state known for rich culinary traditions and good times. Their calendars are full of festivals, most of which celebrate food, music or both, and as passionate as they are about their cuisine, it was only a matter of time before Louisiana’s craft breweries heeded the call to make flavourful beers to complement the food culture. So the state has introduced the Louisiana Craft Brewery Trail to tout locally-made beers – cheers!
Visiting Louisiana's breweries is an excellent way to explore the culture and history of Louisiana towns with plenty of local craft beers to choose from....one pint at a time! A suggested self-drive itinerary is available here including the capital city of Baton Rouge, home to the Tin Roof Brewery Company and across Lake Pontchartrain in Abita Springs is Louisiana's most established brewery, Abita Springs.
The trail has seven breweries all accessible from Interstates 10 and 12; Abita, Bayou Teche, Chafunkta, Covington Brewhouse, NOLA Brewing Company, Parish and Tin Roof Brewing.
There is a Louisiana Brewery Trail website featuring things to do in the area, places to stay and dining options along the way.
