Nashville Live Music Guide
The Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched a free Nashville Live Music app, the first ever city-wide live music guide. Created to help visitors and locals locate live music venues throughout Music City, the app allows users to search for music by area of town or venue name, and will tell you exactly who's playing at each venue. There will also be a map function that will show you where the venues are as well as augmented reality feature that locates the live music venue options nearest to you. More information...
Duran Duran headline Bayfest Music Festival!
Alabama's Gulf Coast city Mobile celebrates with the 17th annual 'Bayfest' Music Festival this October. This three day event on the weekend 7-9 October will provide family friendly entertainment for 50,000 with headliner acts including Duran Duran, Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa, Needtobreathe, B.o.B and Wet Willie.
Voodoo Music Experience
Only the coolest take to the stage at this Halloween-themed festival in City Park, New Orleans, known for its blending of high-profile national artists such as Marilyn Manson, 50 Cent, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Duran Duran, Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M and 311, with local Louisiana musicians including The Original Meters, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, and Dr. John.
Smoky Mountain Lumberjack Feud opens in Pigeon Forge
The new $10 million Lumberjack Feud attraction features world-class lumberjacks performing more than 10 unique lumberjack events, including speed climbing up 60-foot tall branchless trees in seconds, axe-throwing, chopping, sawing and log-rolling. Alabama's 'Year of Music' continues with the return of The Big Spring Jam Festival!
The Big Spring Jam, one of the best loved music festivals in the South, returns this September to Huntsville, Alabama in the Tennessee Valley. On Friday 23 and Saturday 24 September, the musical notes of the Big Spring Jam will return to downtown Huntsville in an event that features an impressive number of acts on three outdoor stages as well as a new indoor venue.
Headliners will include Incubus, Drive By Truckers, Earth Wind and Fire as well as country music superstars Alan Jackson, Josh Turner and Thompson Square. More information...

The Help coming to a cinema near you…
Kathryn Stockett, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, used the Greater Belhaven neighbourhood extensively for the setting of her bestselling novel The Help, published in 2009 and available in all good book shops.
Following the success of the book The Help will be released as a film in the UK at the end of October. The Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau has made this historic neighbourhood the newest attraction in Jackson, Mississippi with a new Driving Tours.
