Shopping in Sevierville, Tennessee is a must, especially because it is home to Tennessee's largest outlet mall, Tanger Five Oaks. You can find some really good deals on some really nice things, but the key to maximising your shopping trip is to plan ahead.
We have put together 6 tips for outlet shoppng like a champ!
Scope out the Shopportunities – Spend a little prep time researching what is available. A complete list of Sevierville Chamber member stores and a list of the 100+ high end outlets at Tanger Five Oaks are good places to start.
Stock up on coupons beforehand - Major outlets, like Tanger Five Oaks Factory Outlet Center, offer online coupons, mobile coupons through their app (which are different and sometimes worth more) and weekly coupon specials through their Facebook page. Sign up in advance and save time while you’re shopping.
Timing is Everything – Consider the time of year you plan to shop. Many of the outlet malls and sometimes even the specialty stores will hold holiday sales and shopping events. This can save you a little more, but it can also mean you’ll have to deal with a larger crowd. If you prefer to shop when things aren’t so busy, mid-week is an ideal time to browse. Often there are fewer people in the stores, giving you more elbow room to find the best bargians.
Don't Just Think Clothing – Remember, there are a variety of outlet stores in Sevierville – not just clothing and accessories. The Home Accents Direct Outlet Center offers really unique home decorator items while The Music Outlet offers great prices on instruments. Your Scrapbook Superstore and their adjacent Clearance Center offer amazing prices on all sorts of scrapping supplies and even offer “Make & Take” sessions to showcase new techniques.
Think outside the box and inside the bin! – Try some outlets you may not know like East Tennessee’s original outlet, Hammer’s . At this everything-but-the-kitchen-sink store you can find department store quality clothing alongside bins of sample shoes (hint: if you’re a size 6 run, don’t walk, to Hammer’s). Tools and garden supplies line up beside beautiful wool rugs and children’s books and games are tucked in between bathmats and insulated lunchboxes. You definitely have to dig, but you can find some great deals.
Bring friends and family – Enlisting a friend or family member’s help on an outlet shopping excursion can help locate items faster, make more specials work (like buy one get one deals or needing to spend a certain amount to get the discount) and more. Plus, it’s always nice to have a sounding board just outside the dressing room when you try on that pink sequined tube top and tartan skirt.
