Louisiana's best spring music festivals
Louisiana is where jazz was born, where Cajun and zydeco were created. With such a rich musical heritage it should come as no surprise that Louisiana host some of spring's best music festivals:
- For 25 years Festival International de Louisiane in Lafayette has been celebrating south Louisiana's French cultural heritage.
- DeltaFest, in north Louisiana, is all about music, food, family and fun.
- The 40-plus year old New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival draws some of the best jazz artists, but don't be fooled by the name, it's hard to think of a musical style that isn't represented here!
- Dust off those cowboy boots and grab your cowboy hat because some of country's biggest stars are taking over Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge for Bayou Country Superfest.
Spring comes early in Sweet Home Alabama so head for Mobile Bay and the 32 miles of white sand beaches in the nearby resort towns of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach on Alabama's stunning Gulf Coast! Mardi Gras celebrations have already started in Mobile and culminate on Fat Tuesday, the 12th February 2013. The month of March brings the chance to celebrate Mobile's horticultural extravaganza at the Festival of Flowers. The Interstate Mullet Toss event provides the perfect excuse to soak up some sun, put your toes in the sand and enjoy music at Alabama's famous roadhouse the Flora-Bama Bar and Lounge.
