The ONE Thing You Must Do In Each US State
I stumbled upon this great article "If you could only tell a visitor to do ONE thing in your whole state, what would it be?”.
Here is what was listed for our Deep South States:
US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama
Olde Pink House in Savannah, Georgia
French Quarter Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana
The Lyric in Oxford, Mississippi
Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

60 Years of Rock 'n' Roll
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Elvis' first recordings at Sun Studio, Elvis Presley’s Graceland is planning a variety of activities, starting with a new exhibit at Graceland entitled “60 Years of Elvis.”
On 5th July 1954, a delivery truck driver named Elvis Presley walked into Sun Studio in Memphis and recorded “That’s All Right” with guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black. Memphis DJ Dewey Phillips played the song on 8th July on WHBQ radio and the switchboard lit up. Rock ‘n’ roll was born and the music world changed forever.
Click more information if you would like a Memphis information pack & to enjoy a short video showing the exhibit.
New Orleans Plantation Country - a memorable travel destination
Between the historic cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana visitors can explore a remarkable area where the past is gloriously alive.
Here, a collection of famous plantations dot the verdant landscape along the Mississippi River, each offering a unique journey back in time. Enjoy delicious Cajun and Creole cuisine, exhilarating swamp tours, comfortable accommodations and all the richness of Louisiana’s vibrant culture.
It’s all here, just minutes from New Orleans, awaiting your discovery.
